Overview
The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for supporting, deploying, and maintaining Windows-based workstations across the organization, with a focus on Windows 11 and modern deployment technologies. This role supports end users, performs device provisioning through Intune, and ensures reliable IT operations within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Windows OS deployments, strong familiarity with Intune, and an understanding of healthcare workflows, compliance, and security expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and support Windows operating systems, with a strong emphasis on Windows 11 installations, updates, and migrations.
Use Microsoft Intune to perform workstation provisioning, application deployments, compliance policy management, and device lifecycle support.
Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and software issues across desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
Provide technical support to healthcare staff, ensuring minimal downtime for clinical operations and maintaining adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
Assist with end-user onboarding, device setup, permissions, and basic account administration.
Maintain accurate documentation for deployment procedures, device inventories, and technical workflows.
Collaborate with IT teams, clinical operations, and vendors when advanced troubleshooting or escalations are required.
Support network connectivity issues at the workstation level, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and authentication problems.
Ensure all devices meet organizational security and compliance standards before being deployed to clinical or administrative staff.
Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience deploying and supporting Windows operating systems (Windows 11 strongly preferred).
Experience using Microsoft Intune for device provisioning, imaging, and application deployment.
Prior experience working in a healthcare or clinical environment, understanding patient-care workflows and compliance requirements.
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and operating system components.
Ability to communicate effectively with clinical, administrative, and technical staff.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in fast-paced, high-demand environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Azure AD, MFA, and identity/role-based access management.
Understanding of HIPAA, PHI handling, and healthcare IT best practices.
Experience supporting EMRs/EHRs or clinical applications (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
