Location: Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska (Onsite)
Role Overview
This role involves providing multi-disciplinary support for mission system services. The position focuses on the life cycle management, engineering, integration, and sustainment of required systems. This includes ensuring assured connectivity across geographically separated locations and supporting enterprise IT services essential to national security through 24/7 IT services and network support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual machines and their management consoles, such as Wyse Management Suite (WMS) and 10Zig Management Console.
- Perform systems administration for Windows environments, including both workstation support and hands-on server support.
- Harden systems according to security requirements and best practices.
- Manage product and service issue resolution and coordinate upgrades.
- Verify system performance after hardware and software installation.
- Handle the administration and support of print services.
- Diagnose technical problems and escalate unresolved issues according to established procedures.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including manuals, system specifications, and installation records.
- Perform shift work as required to ensure 24/7 coverage, with shifts scheduled between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Travel may be required for temporary duty assignments.
Required Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of related systems administration experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in Windows systems administration.
- Experience with system hardening and security compliance.
- Knowledge of tools such as ACAS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Certifications: Must possess a CompTIA Security+ certification. An ITIL 4 Foundation certification must be obtained within 9 months of starting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Disaster Recovery (DR) and virtualization management.
- Familiarity with VDI technologies, including 10Zig and WMS.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
