• DevOps - Need experience with YAML files and helm charts. Use ansible but open to any other similar tools. Just need to understand the devops process
• Experience in 2+ other databases (Oracle, mongo, Hadoop, hive, impala etc) no preference
• Containerization - experience or knowledge in Kubernetes containers
• Strong SQL skills and querying
• Great communication - need to be able to work with other teams and be a strong communicator

Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics:

This is a team of platform owners that do DevOps and Admin skills to maintain the platform and support of LOBs. This position needs both DevOps-focused and Admin skills. The manager will train the candidate on Starburst and related standards, policies, and processes at the bank.

• DevOps-oriented work: responsibilities include container orchestration, automation (Ansible), and environment setup.
• Admin-oriented work: responsibilities include managing environments, monitoring (Grafana), and supporting SQL queries and federated data connections.

• You will be working on Starburst, which is an application running on OpenShift.( They are not an OpenShift administrator setting up Kubernetes.)
• Communicate and help build UAT and development environments for new LOBs or work with existing ones.
• Review SQL queries and help tune them, including materialized views and BIAX roles.
• Deploy images using blue-green deployment in production.
• Perform testing and sign-off to ensure smooth operations.
• Focus on automation for deployments so manual intervention is minimized.
• Ensure access to systems and deployment for various environments.
• Communicate via phone calls and Teams to ensure LOBs are fully supported.
• Automate packaging of artifacts created in lower environments for production consumption outside of Starburst.
• This may include MicroStrategy reports, Cognos, Tableau dashboards.
• Use APIs and Python scripts to package and publish consumable data products.
• Work with relational database schemas (own meaningful objects such as SQL queries or tables).
• Handle data virtualization queries and package them in Dev or UAT, then deploy with a single button or new image.
• Build graphical reports using Grafana.
• Proven troubleshooting & issues resolution skills
• Deploy and manage containers (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and configure Linux environments.
• Set up access controls (BIAX) and maintain application environments.
• Work on data virtualization using Starburst/Trino; focus on visualization and materialized views.
• Write, tune, and optimize SQL queries across multiple databases (Hive, Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB).
• Configure JDBC connections and URLs for federated queries.
• Automate tasks with Ansible; assist with Python scripting and API integrations.
• Monitor environments and generate reports using Grafana.
