Role Overview
We are seeking a Big Data Engineer to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of solutions within a Big Data ecosystem. This role focuses on collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing large datasets to build scalable and flexible data architectures. The position involves integrating various tools, optimizing platform performance, and providing technical recommendations while ensuring compliance with enterprise security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain solutions in a Big Data ecosystem.
- Collect, store, process, and analyze large datasets.
- Develop scalable and flexible data architectures.
- Integrate various tools and technologies to optimize platform performance.
- Utilize Python for automation, development, and integration.
- Deploy and orchestrate applications using Docker, Containers, and Kubernetes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Required Qualifications
Experience: This is a role for a Big Data Engineer with 3 years or less of experience.
Technical Skills:- Experience within the Market Data space.
- Expertise in Cloudera Hadoop and its ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Spark, Impala, Ranger).
- Knowledge of Iceberg and Object Storage such as S3 or Ozone.
- Knowledge of Docker, Containers, and Kubernetes.
- Python development skills for automation and integration with frameworks like FastAPI or GUNICORN.
- Proficiency in Python packages such as Spacy, numpy, Pandas, or Polars.
- Intermediate to advanced Linux/Unix knowledge, including bash/shell scripting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver in a demanding environment.
- Ability to work closely with senior technologists.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated compensation for this position is between $60.00 and $65.06 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be adjusted based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. A benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
