In this contingent Software Engineering assignment, the engineer will participate in moderately complex engineering initiatives and support the large-scale effort to migrate databases from Teradata to Google BigQuery. The role involves analyzing engineering challenges, contributing to the resolution of moderately complex issues, and collaborating with Software Engineering personnel to meet deliverables aligned with organizational policies, procedures, and compliance expectations.
This position requires deep technical experience across Teradata, Ab Initio ETL, BigQuery, SQL, cloud computing, and secure DevOps. The engineer will contribute to planning, architecture discussions, and execution of the migration program while ensuring high-quality engineering practices.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and support ETL processes using Ab Initio for Teradata BigQuery migration.
Write, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL queries across Teradata and BigQuery environments.
Support cloud migration tasks leveraging Google Cloud Platform and cloud computing best practices.
Use Spark and Python where needed for data processing and transformation.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and adhere to sprint planning and delivery routines.
Implement secure DevOps practices and cloud deployment automation.
Analyze moderately complex engineering issues and support resolution.
Communicate technical details, risks, and mitigation steps across multiple organizational levels.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure migration quality, performance, and compliance.
Contribute to strategy development, database security considerations, and architectural planning.
