Location: - Hybrid - Maimi Florida - 3 days office

Looking for Senior hands-on technology leader with 15+ years of experience leading cloud-native software development, digital transformation, and enterprise architecture initiatives closely aligned with business goals. Known for building and mentoring high-performing teams that are both technically strong and true partners to the business. Consistently drives improvements in efficiency, revenue growth, and scalability by owning the product, defining clear technology roadmaps and fostering a culture of innovation. Skilled at turning executive vision into practical, executable solutions, earning stakeholder buy-in, and delivering scalable systems that create lasting competitive advantage

  1. People Leadership As a leader of people, there is a minimum expectation on you to ensure you are aware of your responsibilities and expectations as a Line Manager:
  • Consciously create and promote a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organisation s vision, purpose, strategy, competencies and values.
  • Coach, mentor and develop employees, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing personal development planning and opportunities.
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their role and KPIs. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the direct reports in accordance with the organisation s policies and procedures.
  • Working with your team to set, manage and monitor KPIs for your team in line with LNZL s strategic objectives.
  1. Provide leadership, vision and a forward-thinking view to Software Development practises, tools, and technology, and lead the Software Engineering team to successful delivery.
  • Develop manage and prepare the best Software engineering team
  • Guide, coach and mentor software development
  • Work closely with engineers, developers, and product and project management throughout the organisation to influence product development and improving products
  • Be involved with Strategic and Technology plans
  • Understand the Strategy, Strategic plan, Platform plan, Client plan, Customer and Product plans and their related product, platform and Data Requirements, and be able to articulate this with the engineering team
  • Provide direction and leadership to the Software Development team delivering the strategic plan for Loyalty NZ. Understand the end to end vision and be able to lead the Software Development team to successfully deliver to this
  • Provide subject matter expertise and forward-looking views in relation to Software solutions, development technologies, tools, processes and practises
  • Demonstrate technical leadership with a thorough understanding of software, product and platform development in on-premise and cloud environments
  • Drive for quality and efficiency across the team

  1. Effectively build, manage and lead an effective Software Engineering team.
  • Ensuring appropriate resourcing, planning workloads and reporting on all aspects of your team s performance
  • Ensuring resource allocation to achieve both business success and personnel development goals
  • Recruit, manage, inspire and coach a team of world-class software developers, with a drive for on time, fit for purpose delivery
  • Supervises recruitment, retention and organisation of employees in line with company personnel policies
  • Advocate and support research activity as part of the ongoing development of the Software Development team

  1. Participates fully and contributes as a member of the Technology leadership team, which involves (but is not limited to)
  • Development of strategies that are aligned to the vision for Loyalty NZ
  • Development of Operational plans, procedures, and policies in order to meet Client, Customer and contractual obligations and to ensure compliance with corporate governance and regulatory requirements
  • Reports regularly on all aspects of Software delivery
  • Align with the Management Team on the future capacity and capability needs and ensure personal development plans are in place to support the development of these capabilities as required
  • Working with Chapter members and other Chapter Leads to define practices required and ensure they are running successfully
  • Defining functional best practices and standards
  • Ensuring appropriate cross skilling plans are setup in the Software Engineering chapter

Experience & Knowledge

-Previous experience in a technology engineering development management role with a well-developed understanding of management and leadership activities

-10+ years experience working within Software Development or Testing domains

-15+ years experience working within the technology domain with a strong emphasis on real time applications, platforms and system integration

-Demonstrated ability to build high performing teams

  • Proven track record of technical experience in Web, Mobile, Cloud and data
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of technology within a commercial environment
  • Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle and agile delivery methods
  • A strong desire to establish standards, processes, policies and best practise
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, cloud providers (AWS, Azure etc) and Cloud Technologies
  • Understanding of Restful Architectures
  • Proven ability to communicate, work with and inspire Technical engineering teams
  • Strong Business and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
  • Ability to understand and portray the big picture, and to influence projects to close the gap between current state and future state.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage teams to grow, change and adopt new ways of working and tools.
  • Broad based information technology experience and foundation in Systems development (e.g. languages, methods, Development lifecycle, Project management approaches etc)

Experience with Risk identification and management, Incident management and root cause analysis

Understanding of Open source development, tools and technologies and Restful Integration

  • Understanding of Loyalty Business concepts
  • Commercial experience in a client focused, marketing-based organisation
  • Exposure to retail POS systems and related technologies

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be self-starting and self-managing
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders influencing stakeholders and take them with you by showing the positivity of the changes in place
