Location: Onsite in Cincinnati, OH - 3 days/week (Mon, Tues, Thurs)
Schedule: 3:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern after 2-3 week onboarding
About the RoleThis role supports a temporary capacity surge and backlog within the DataStage environment. The focus is on incident response, platform health, job optimization, and stability across a large-scale DataStage footprint. Work includes both platform administration and some development.
What You'll Do- Monitor DataStage platform health, performance, and stability
- Respond to incidents and job failures; troubleshoot and remediate issues
- Identify jobs consuming excessive resources or not optimized
- Review job setup, high-level metadata, and design in the DS Ops Console
- Validate that developers are using appropriate DataStage stages and best practices
- Perform DataStage admin tasks and some ETL/data engineering development
- Analyze results and trends; document findings using Excel or Power BI
- Support a high-volume environment:
- 30,000+ unique jobs
- 70,000 daily job runs
- Work heavily within Linux systems
- Quantify work and platform insights using Power BI
Top Must-Have Skills- DataStage 11.7
- DataStage administration
- DataStage development (ETL / data engineering)
- Ability to analyze job design and metadata
- Strong Linux experience
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize inefficient jobs
- Understanding of DataStage best practices
- Power BI (or Excel) for reporting and trend analysis
