This position is for an experienced Software Engineer with either work or personal project experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI. The position will be part of the Applied Research and Technology (ART) Aerospace Technologies Team designing and developing the next-generation avionics systems of the future. The ART Aerospace Technologies Development Sandbox team is chartered with defining new disruptive developmental process improvements for the Collins Aerospace business to enable faster cycle times, lower total lifecycle cost, reduce tech debt and enable greater reusability.

This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

• Develop, design and conclude experiments to accelerate business capabilities in Generative AI for safety-critical development

Qualifications you must have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
• Must be a U.S. Person - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role.
• Proficient in Unix/Linux and Python
• Experience in deploying Generative AI powered applications
• Experience with Large Language Model (LLM) development frameworks (e.g. LangChain, Haystack)

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
