Application Developer

Description:
Diversified Systems is searching for an Application Developer to support the configuration and enhancement of the FASTDS-VS® Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) application. The selected consultant will be responsible for requirements gathering, analysis, application configuration, development, testing, implementation support, and production support activities. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of software development methodologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in both traditional and Agile environments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform requirements gathering and analysis.
- Configure all aspects of the FASTDS-VS® application.
- Configure reference tables and application settings.
- Set up users and manage access permissions for various application functions.
- Develop application enhancements and implement change requests.
- Perform scripting activities.
- Debug software and troubleshoot application issues.
- Manage source control activities.
- Conduct application testing and validation.
- Prepare implementation specifications and supporting documentation.
- Provide production application support.
- Work within traditional and Agile software development environments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required. Preferred fields include Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, or Mathematics.
- 2 years of experience working with SQL databases required.
- 2 years of object-oriented development experience using technologies such as .NET, Java, C#, or VB required.
- Strong analytical skills required.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, and coding best practices required.
- Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn required.
Highly Desired Skills:
- Experience with web services highly desired.
- Familiarity with APIs highly desired.
- Experience with AWS highly desired.
- Knowledge of SQL stored procedures highly desired.
