We are seeking an IT Technician to support the reliability, availability, and day-to-day operation of IT and network infrastructure that underpins automation, control, and manufacturing systems within a campus environment.

This role works closely with Senior Control Systems Technicians and Control Systems Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve IT, server, virtualization, and network-related issues that impact control systems, building automation, and industrial applications. The position is heavily focused on system sustainment, troubleshooting, and uptime, rather than new system design or large-scale implementations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform routine system administration tasks to support high availability of IT systems supporting automation, control, and manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor system health and respond to incidents to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT and network-related issues impacting control systems in collaboration with Control Systems Engineers and Senior Control Systems Technicians.
  • Support and maintain on-premise infrastructure, including servers, virtual machines, storage, and network devices used for industrial and control system applications.
  • Perform system updates, patches, and basic maintenance activities following approved procedures and change controls.
  • Assist with diagnosing network communications issues affecting control systems, automation platforms, and field devices.
  • Support identity, authentication, and access-related tasks for systems integrated with directory services.
  • Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, configuration records, and troubleshooting notes.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately and clearly communicate system status, risks, and corrective actions to senior technical staff.
  • Support backup, recovery, and basic disaster recovery tasks as directed.
  • Follow cybersecurity, access control, and system hardening requirements applicable to industrial and manufacturing environments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of IT fundamentals including servers, networking, virtualization, and operating systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting system availability, performance, and connectivity issues.
  • Ability to work effectively at the interface of IT and operational technology (OT) systems.
  • Ability to follow structured troubleshooting and incident response processes.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, particularly when working across technical disciplines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks during system outages or high-impact events.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or infrastructure support
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Work Schedule: First shift, Monday-Friday, standard business hours (with occasional after-hours support as needed)
