Location: Deerfield, IL (Hybrid)

Role Purpose

The Corporate Services Domain Architect is the senior architecture leader accountable for shaping and governing technology strategy across Human Resources and Finance. This role translates HR and Finance strategy into coherent, executable architecture outcomes that deliver measurable in-year savings, enable year-on-year simplification, and establish integrated target-state architectures supporting the Hire-to-Retire and Record-to-Report value streams in a regulated healthcare environment.

The role ensures enterprise platforms are leveraged consistently, portfolios are intentionally simplified, and architectural decisions strengthen compliance, operational efficiency, and cost discipline across corporate services.

  • Quantifiable in-year and recurring cost savings across HR and Finance technology portfolios
  • Approved multi-year simplification and modernization roadmaps with clear savings targets
  • Reduced architectural complexity and elimination of redundant HR and Finance applications
  • Increased enterprise leverage of strategic platforms (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow, Oracle EPM)
  • Improved decision quality, speed, and audit readiness for HR and Finance investments
Core Responsibilities Strategy Realization: HR & Finance Architecture
  • Partner with HR and Finance leadership to translate workforce, financial, and compliance strategies into target operating models and capability roadmaps
  • Lead target-state architecture across Hire-to-Retire and Record-to-Report value streams
  • Ensure alignment between upstream planning activities and downstream operational execution
  • Develop sequenced, value-backed roadmaps delivering in-year savings and sustained cost reduction
Platform and Solution Architecture Leadership
  • Provide architectural leadership for major HR and Finance initiatives and investment proposals
  • Establish and steward architectural alignment around Workday and ServiceNow for HR capabilities
  • Lead platform alignment for Finance systems including Oracle EPM, FCCS, Blackline, Vertex, and related solutions
  • Ensure solutions meet regulatory, audit, privacy, security, and internal control requirements
Portfolio Simplification and Savings Delivery
  • Continuously assess HR and Finance application portfolios to identify consolidation, rationalization, and retirement opportunities
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and Enterprise Architecture to quantify, track, and realize savings
  • Reduce manual effort through automation, standardization, and platform reuse
  • Embed cost discipline, scalability, and compliance into all architecture decisions
Governance and Decision Enablement
  • Represent HR and Finance architecture within enterprise governance and investment review forums
  • Ensure enterprise-standard platforms are evaluated and leveraged first
  • Enable consistent architectural decision-making without slowing delivery
Executive Relationships

The Corporate Services Domain Architect serves as a trusted advisor to HR and Finance executives, IT leadership, Enterprise Architecture, and risk and compliance partners.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience
  • 12+ years in enterprise, domain, or solution architecture roles supporting HR and Finance functions
  • Deep experience with Workday, ServiceNow HR, Oracle EPM, FCCS, Blackline, Vertex, and adjacent ecosystems
  • Proven track record delivering portfolio simplification and measurable cost savings
  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, and influence skills
