Senior Tableau Administrator responsible for supporting, scaling, and managing a large, enterprise-level Tableau environment.
The engineer will address moderately complex infrastructure engineering challenges, maintain platform stability, enhance automation pipelines, and collaborate with engineering and business partners to ensure reliable, compliant delivery of BI/analytics capabilities.
The role requires technical depth in Tableau Server administration, scripting (Python), GitHub workflows, and general infrastructure engineering best practices.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Administer, maintain, and scale enterprise Tableau Server environments.
- Perform configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring.
- Manage Tableau governance: permissions, security models, user provisioning, and folder/project structures.
- Build automation using Python (scripts, utilities, health checks, ingestion helpers).
- Manage source control workflows using GitHub for scripts, configs, and operational tooling.
- Support troubleshooting of infrastructure-level Tableau issues (connectivity, workloads, cluster nodes).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Infrastructure, BI, Data Engineering, Platform teams).
- Participate in incident resolution and root-cause analysis for Tableau system issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and engineering standards.
- Contribute to process improvements within Infrastructure Engineering, including automation opportunities.
- Optional: Use Ansible to automate configuration management, deployments, and operational tasks.
