Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Architect II to design, manage, and optimize data infrastructure for assigned domains. This role ensures data is structured, secure, and accessible, while providing governance leadership and mentoring junior architects. The ideal location for this position is Appleton, WI, and relocation assistance is available. Will consider candidates in other locations based on relevancy of related experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Document data flows, lineage, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business partners to align data models with requirements.
- Manage metadata repositories and coordinate with business partners to maintain data catalog information.
- Monitor and resolve data quality issues, and communicate them with business stewards.
- Enforce governance rules, security policies, and canonical data practices for assigned data domains.
- Define schemas, transformations, and integration rules while supporting data integration activities.
- Own one or more data domains end-to-end, including integration rules and data catalog upkeep.
- Support regulatory compliance initiatives (such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX).
- Introduce cloud-first design patterns and domain-oriented governance practices.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience: 4+ years in a data engineering or BI Developer role, including 2 years of experience in data modeling.
Technical Skills: Experience with data analysis tools and languages such as SQL or Python. Experience with exploration tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker. Experience using cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake, and Databricks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Awareness of data governance frameworks and tools.
- Familiarity with compliance regulations.
- Familiarity with database management tools and business intelligence tools.
- Experience in the retail or trading industry is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 annually.
