Job Title: Senior Enterprise/Solution Architect (AI, RPA & Cloud Modernization)

Location: Remote (candidates in Ohio or the Eastern time zone preferred). Interviews will be remote.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Architect to support a state government technology organization on modernization and cloud strategy work. You’ll partner with business leaders and IT teams to shape technology strategy, set standards, and guide architecture on new and existing projects. Focus areas include Generative AI, virtual assistants, and robotic process automation across public benefit and workforce programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate business and IT strategic planning with senior leadership, business relationship managers, and SMEs
  • Build business capability models and customer journey maps
  • Create IT strategies, technology standards, and guidelines for project design and implementation
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives using emerging technologies
  • Run technology evaluations and tool comparisons, and present recommendations to senior leadership
  • Give architectural guidance on new projects and make sure active projects follow technical standards and enterprise strategy
  • Provide EA governance for cloud modernization efforts
  • Run learning sessions on new strategies and technologies
  • Work with the program management office on status, risks, and benefits

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5-7 years in IT, including at least 2 years of Enterprise Architecture and 2 years of Solution Architecture
  • Hands-on experience leading AI implementations (Generative AI, RPA, virtual assistants/conversational UI)
  • Solution architecture on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and/or Azure for AI and RPA, such as UiPath
  • Experience building technology roadmaps, business capability models, and customer journey maps
  • Experience with EA governance for cloud modernization
  • Exposure to multiple technology domains (application, security, infrastructure)
  • Strong consulting, negotiation, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Technical writing with Word, PowerPoint, Lucidchart, Visio, and SharePoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

Preferred

  • Master’s degree
  • TOGAF certification
  • Experience with the ABACUS EA tool
  • Public sector experience
