Principal Integration & Cloud Architect – MDM & Solar Master Data (AWS Focused)
The Principal Integration & Cloud Architect is responsible for defining and governing the enterprise integration architecture for Solar Turbines’ Master Data Management (MDM) platform, with primary focus on Assets, Customers, and Addresses. This role operates at a Principal Architect level, setting technical direction, enterprise standards, and reference architectures while enabling reliable integration between MDM and critical Solar systems such as ERP, FieldBase, Clarity, Salesforce, and digital platforms using AWS-native patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end integration architecture for Solar Turbines master data domains including Assets (packages, major assemblies, serialized equipment), Customers/Business Partners, and Addresses/Sites.
- Define canonical data models, schemas, metadata, and integration contracts for Solar asset, customer, and address data consumed across enterprise platforms.
- Design and govern real-time, batch, and event-driven integrations between MDM and systems such as ERP (LN / 5C), FieldBase, Clarity, Salesforce, analytics, and partner platforms.
- Lead AWS-based integration architecture using API Gateway, Lambda (.NET), EventBridge, SQS/SNS, Step Functions, and data services to support scalable and resilient Solar MDM integrations.
- Ensure that customer, address, site, and asset changes in MDM propagate reliably and consistently to downstream systems supporting sales, contracts, field service, asset tracking, and digital experiences.
- Align integration designs with Solar operational processes including asset commissioning, asset movement between sites, customer hierarchy changes, and service execution.
- Review and approve solution designs, identifying integration risks related to data consistency, latency, duplication, and lifecycle ownership.
- Partner with security teams to define IAM, network, authentication, and authorization patterns aligned with Solar and Caterpillar enterprise standards.
- Mentor senior engineers, establish integration standards and guardrails, and influence long-term MDM and integration platform roadmaps.
Required Skills
- Enterprise MDM and master data integration architecture
- Advanced AWS architecture (serverless, event-driven, API-led integration)
- .NET-based backend integration services
- Enterprise integration patterns (REST, async messaging, pub/sub)
- Data governance, ownership models, and lifecycle management.
