Job Description:
Controls Engineer (PLC & Machine Integration)
Overview
We are seeking a Controls Engineer focused on industrial automation and machine integration. This role supports the design, implementation, and commissioning of automated equipment using PLC-based control systems. The engineer will work hands-on with machinery and collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software teams during deployment.
Responsibilities
Design, program, and maintain PLC-based control systems
Develop ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks
Integrate sensors, actuators, VFDs, servos, and safety devices
Support machine bring-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Interface with HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networks
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on system integration
Diagnose I/O, communication, and motion control issues onsite
Required Qualifications
Experience programming PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff, or similar)
Understanding of industrial automation principles
Experience commissioning automated machinery
Familiarity with industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, etc.)
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and system documentation
Nice to Have
Motion control experience
Safety PLC experience (SIL / PL-rated systems)
Robotics integration exposure
