We are seeking an experienced Agile Coach to support a large-scale transformation within a global life sciences organization. This role will focus on a specific Agile Release Train (ART), partnering closely with senior leadership to evolve and operationalize a pragmatic SAFe-based delivery model.
You will play a critical role in stabilizing and maturing an Agile environment that is currently inconsistent in execution, helping teams adopt sustainable practices without introducing unnecessary disruption. This is a hands-on coaching role requiring both strategic perspective and the ability to embed within teams to drive real outcomes.
The ideal candidate brings a balanced approach leveraging SAFe principles while adapting to the organization's current maturity level and unique challenges.
Job Responsibilities
Partner with program leadership to shape and refine a practical, scalable SAFe implementation aligned to organizational needs
Provide hands-on coaching within a single Agile Release Train (ART), supporting teams, Product Owners, and Product Managers
Establish clarity around roles and responsibilities across teams to improve accountability and delivery consistency
Introduce and reinforce lightweight governance and guardrails to drive alignment without overburdening teams
Coach teams through Agile ceremonies, ART events, and planning activities to improve execution and predictability
Help standardize ways of working across a highly contractor-heavy environment with varied Agile practices
Identify gaps in current Agile maturity and implement incremental improvements to strengthen delivery capabilities
Partner with stakeholders to balance structure and flexibility, avoiding overly rigid or disruptive transformations
Support change management efforts to ensure adoption of Agile practices in a sustainable, non-disruptive way
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and continuously refine coaching strategies to drive measurable outcomes
Qualifications
SAFe certification required (e.g., SPC, SAFe Agilist or equivalent)
Proven experience as an Agile Coach within large-scale enterprise environments, preferably within life sciences or pharmaceutical organizations
Demonstrated experience working within SAFe frameworks, with the ability to apply them pragmatically rather than rigidly
Strong understanding of Agile Release Trains (ARTs), portfolio structures, and scaling challenges
Experience working in environments with mixed maturity levels and high contractor populations
Ability to clarify roles, align stakeholders, and drive consistency across teams
Strong influencing skills with the ability to drive change without creating disruption
Experience coaching senior stakeholders and partnering with leadership to shape Agile strategy
Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to operate effectively in evolving, ambiguous environments while maintaining forward momentum
