QA Automation Engineer

job summary:

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be a key member of a technical team working to modernize New York State's health and human services software. Operating in an Agile environment, you will be responsible for the full testing lifecycle, from creating test plans and scenarios to executing both manual and automated tests to ensure the system works perfectly. Your daily tasks involve hunting for software bugs, writing code to automate repetitive tests, and collaborating with business users to ensure the final product meets their needs. You will also play a vital role in security and performance checks while keeping management informed of progress, risks, and successes. This is a hybrid role based in Albany, NY, requiring you to be on-site up to 50% of the time.

qualifications:

The ideal candidate is an experienced QA professional with 4 to 7 years of experience in software testing, specifically within large, complex organizations. Beyond general testing, you must have a strong background in automation (using tools like Selenium or Katalon Studio) and proficiency in Java scripting to build automated test solutions. You should be highly skilled in using Jira and Xray for tracking bugs and creating data dashboards for leadership. Experience testing Child Support applications is highly desirable and will be considered a major asset for this specific project role.
