Job Title: Senior Frontend Developer Duration: 12+ Months contract with extension Location: Austin, TX (Onsite on every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) Client: Apple Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Frontend Developer to join the AI Platform & Frameworks team. This role focuses on exploring and building next-generation UI architectures powered by AI agents. You will play a key role in evaluating modern component frameworks, enhancing reusable UI systems, and enabling intelligent, scalable user interfaces.
You will work closely with the team maintaining a multi-framework component library (built using Web Components and Stencil), while researching alternative technologies to improve scalability, performance, and developer experience.
Key Responsibilities - Research and evaluate modern frontend frameworks and cross-platform component library technologies.
- Build proof-of-concept (POC) applications to demonstrate framework capabilities, trade-offs, and performance.
- Design, develop, and enhance component libraries supporting multiple UI frameworks.
- Develop and maintain MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers integrated with UI systems.
- Architect and implement multi-step AI agents that interact with frontend components and frameworks.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance and cost in high-traffic environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical direction and best practices.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while working independently.
Required Skills & Qualifications - Strong expertise in frontend technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
- Hands-on experience with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or similar.
- Experience with Web Components and component-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with Stencil or similar component library tools (or ability to evaluate alternatives).
- Strong analytical skills with experience conducting technical comparisons and evaluations.
- Experience designing scalable frontend systems and reusable UI libraries.
- Understanding of API integrations and frontend-backend communication.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with AI/ML concepts, AI agents, or LLM-based applications.
- Hands-on experience building AI agents or automation workflows.
- Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar architectures.
- Experience optimizing applications for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
