JIRA Service Management Senior Architect
We are seeking a highly experienced JIRA Service Management (JSM) Senior Architect to lead the strategic design, optimization, and scalability of our Atlassian environment. This role requires a strong blend of deep technical expertise and functional business process leadership to support enterprise-wide collaboration, reporting standardization, and long-term platform governance.
The ideal candidate has successfully led large-scale JIRA migrations from on-premises environments to the cloud, possesses advanced reporting and integration expertise, and can partner across departments to streamline processes and establish scalable best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and optimization of enterprise JIRA Service Management and Atlassian environments
- Drive standardization of workflows, issue types, configurations, permissions, and governance across teams
- Architect scalable solutions that support long-term organizational growth and cross-functional adoption
- Lead or support major migrations from on-prem JIRA environments to Atlassian Cloud
- Design and implement meaningful executive dashboards, KPIs, trend reporting, and operational analytics
- Define reporting standards and data structures to improve visibility and decision-making
- Integrate JIRA with enterprise systems, tools, and third-party platforms
- Collaborate with IT, PMO, Operations, Engineering, and business stakeholders to consolidate and improve processes
- Provide strategic recommendations for platform roadmap, scalability, automation, and governance
- Serve as both a technical leader and trusted advisor to business stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Senior-level experience with JIRA Service Management and the Atlassian suite
- Proven expertise architecting enterprise-scale JIRA/JSM environments
- Hands-on experience leading complex migrations from on-premises to Atlassian Cloud
- Advanced expertise in:
- Reporting and dashboard development
- Data visualization and KPI design
- Software integrations and automation
- Workflow architecture and governance
- Scalability and platform optimization
- Strong understanding of ITSM, incident management, request management, and project delivery processes
- Ability to collaborate across departments and align technical solutions with business objectives
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate strategically while also providing hands-on technical leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Atlassian certifications preferred
- Experience supporting enterprise governance and PMO initiatives
- Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and ITIL frameworks
- Experience with marketplace applications, scripting, and advanced automation tools
