Reliability Engineer | Grand Rapids, MI

Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Analyze equipment failures and identify root causes.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance plans and schedules.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for asset reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new equipment specifications.
  • Track and report on key reliability metrics and performance indicators.
  • Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Conduct reliability assessments and risk analyses for critical assets.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, focused on reliability engineering, maintenance, or process improvement.
  • Proficiency in reliability tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, RCA, RCM, Weibull analysis, statistical process control).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify root causes of failures, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of CMMS/EAM systems and their application in maintenance and reliability programs.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, or oil analysis.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) facilitation and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
