Location: Barker, NY
Housing Provided and Daily Per Diem Provided to Travel Tech's
Positions: Level 1 Technician & Level 2 Technician
Pay: $19-$22/hr (Tech I) | $22-$26/hr+ (Tech II based on experience)
Schedule: Mon-Friday with overtime if projects fall behind ( 5x10s)
OSHA 10 Required or Willing to Obtain

About the Opportunity

We are hiring Travel Cable Technicians (Tech I and Tech II) for a major FluidStack data center buildout in Barker, NY.
This is a long-term project (2+ years) with strong growth opportunity in the low-voltage, telecom, and data center industries.
Candidates from Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Erie, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and surrounding large markets are encouraged to apply.

Level 1 Technician (Entry-Level)

Great for candidates coming from:
  • Low-voltage trade schools
  • Electrical programs
  • General labor or construction wanting to learn the cabling trade

Responsibilities (Tech I):

  • Pull, route, and install low-voltage cable (CAT5/6, fiber, coax)
  • Assist Tech II and lead installers
  • Stage and manage materials
  • Use hand and power tools
  • Climb ladders and work at heights
  • Install cable tray, wireway, device boxes
  • Assist with telecom closet builds
  • Support terminations under guidance

Requirements (Tech I):

  • Entry-level acceptable
  • Reliable transportation to Barker, NY
  • Comfortable with heights
  • OSHA 10 (or able to get before start)
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs
  • Basic hand tools required

Level 2 Technician (Experienced Cable Installer)

Ideal for candidates with 2+ years in:
  • Cabling
  • Telecom
  • Low voltage
  • Electrical
  • Data center construction

Responsibilities (Tech II):

  • Lead cable pulling and routing
  • Terminate copper and fiber
  • Build MDF/IDF closets
    • Racks, patch panels, grounding, backboards
  • Troubleshoot and test cabling
  • Direct conduit runs and wire pulling
  • Operate scissor lifts and advanced tools
  • Read blueprints and job documentation
  • Mentor Tech I installers

Requirements (Tech II):

  • 2+ years cabling or electrical experience
  • Strong termination skills
  • Comfortable on ladders & lifts
  • OSHA 10 preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Own full toolset

Tools Required (Both Levels)

  • Screwdrivers (Phillips & flat)
  • Drywall saw
  • Torpedo level
  • Tape measure
  • Snips (with belt sheath)
  • Needle nose & channel lock pliers
  • Hammer
  • Cable stripper
  • Flashlight
  • Gloves

Work Environment

  • Work inside a large enterprise data center in Barker, NY
  • Fast-paced construction site
  • PPE required (boots, vest, glasses, gloves)
  • Provided PPE: safety vest, gloves, glasses

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
