Role: Financial business analyst with Capital Markets
Capital Markets is required

Position Overview:

  • Client is seeking a Financial Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technology solutions within client’s Finance organization.
  • The ideal candidate will analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, support financial reporting initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
  • The Financial Business Analyst will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Technology, and external partners to support strategic initiatives, regulatory reporting, process improvements, and system enhancements.


Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis and Requirements Management:

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Conduct gap analyses and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions with cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.


Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze financial data to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics to track key business performance indicators.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end reporting activities.
  • Validate financial data accuracy and integrity across systems.


Data Analysis and Process Improvement:

  • Perform data analysis using SQL, Excel, and reporting tools.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data interpretation.
  • Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and control effectiveness.
  • Support automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Project Support:

  • Participate in Agile and Waterfall project environments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and solution validation.
  • Support implementation and post-production activities.

Regulatory and Risk Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with client policies, financial regulations, and internal controls.
  • Support audit requests and regulatory reporting initiatives.
  • Document business processes and control procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor''s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3 to 7 plus years of experience as a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Financial Business Analyst.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with SQL for data analysis and validation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience within financial services, mortgage, banking, or capital markets industries.
  • Knowledge of client, Fannie Mae, or GSE operations.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality practices.
  • CBAP, PMI-PBA, CFA, CPA, or related certifications preferred.
