Job Overview: We are seeking a Python Developer for a 9-month contract position. The successful candidate will work on the trading floor alongside a prestigious team of mortgage warehouse finance experts on one of Wall Street's largest residential finance desks. This role offers exposure to intricate funding operations that enable millions of households to purchase their dream homes.
Responsibilities: - Enhance existing scripts and workflows to ensure timely daily reporting, support funding of multi-billion-dollar financing activity, and drive operational efficiencies.
- Design and implement data handlers for PostgreSQL databases using SQLAlchemy ORM, including CRUD operations, bulk updates, and JSONB column management.
- Build and maintain backend APIs for client funding applications.
- Develop ETL pipelines for collateral data, including encryption/decryption of sensitive fields, data normalization, and type conversions.
- Provide fast-paced, hands-on support during trading hours.
Qualifications: - Strong academic background in computer science or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python 3.7, pandas, and NumPy.
- Excellent database knowledge: PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, JSONB, and SQL.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Unit Test, Mocking, and Data Validation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong critical and independent problem-solving abilities.
- Keen interest in applying programming skills to financial problems.
- Optional: Knowledge of mortgage collateral systems and understanding of financial data models and regulatory requirements.

Pay Range: $60- $65
