Job Description:

Apex is seeking a Full Buy & Product Quality Specialist to join a growing company in West Chester, PA.

Job Purpose/Overview

The Full Buy & Product Quality Specialist is an essential "gate keeper" of product performance. Their purpose is to ensure product safety, quality, and conformance to technical specifications through quality verifications of existing and new products. This role is expected to deliver robust analyses grounded in statistical tests and scientific methods, and provide data for new product launches, cost savings exercises, and product change requests. It is critical this role engage well within the product quality team ensuring the delivery of accurate and traceable results in a timely manner showing product performance has achieved our consumer expectations. This role will adhere to standardized processes, support productivity initiatives, and deliver efficiencies to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a statistical and risk assessment competency leader to analyze product performance of food systems

Direct and perform technical testing; manage the laboratory workload and priorities ensuring individual and team performance meets expectations and adheres to timelines

Develop presentations and recommendations for the project team on technical solutions to improve the quality and food safety of new and existing products

Act as "voice of the customer/consumer" for existing and developing products, i.e. benchmark testing, defect classification, performance targets

Investigate consumer complaints from the field and provide support in the identification of solutions at the factory level

Keep informed of industry testing standards and continuously improve test methods, ownership of rigorous laboratory practice

Define, verify, and validate test methods/equipment for product development

Develop and maintain 3rd party laboratory network as needed to support business growth ambition

High level troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities to drive resolution of multi-dimensional complex problems

Additional growth and development of role as needed

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualification

Four-year college degree from an accreditted institution, science-based or related field

Experience in a laboratory setting

Skilled at technical report writing

Experience with statistical software (such as QI Macros, Minitab) 2.

Knowledge/Experience

Experienced with laboratory techniques and equipment

Strong attention to detail & scientific background

Analytical, data entry and review, and computer literacy (Microsoft Office)

Be able to meet deadlines and self-motivating

Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of machine servicing is an asset

Knowledge of software and/or equipment validation is an asset

Ability to collaborate well with others or contribute individually as applicable
