Network Technician (ONLY W2)

Additional Requirements

• Candidate must have a valid Driver's License to operate a state-issued vehicle for travel to various locations within South Carolina.
• Travel will remain within a single business day unless scheduled and approved in advance.
• Candidate must be comfortable participating in an on-call rotation every 3 weeks to support critical network outages.

Position Overview

The Network Technician Intermediate will support and maintain the network infrastructure and Microsoft 365 tenant environment. This role ensures reliable wired and wireless connectivity across critical sites and includes routine responsibilities as well as limited on-call support. The technician will collaborate with the help desk team and network team to resolve incidents, assist with infrastructure projects, and perform administrative and technical tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Help Desk & Ticket Management

• Respond to wired and wireless network issues
• Perform network account onboarding and offboarding using custom scripts
• Resolve infrastructure-related incidents

On-Call Support Rotation

• Level 1 Support: On-call every 3 weeks for critical site network outages
• Level 2 Support: On-call every 3 weeks (alternating with Level 1) for escalated issues

Infrastructure Projects

• Assist with network rollouts, upgrades, and cleanup efforts
• Participate in planning and execution of infrastructure improvements
• Support documentation and inventory of network assets

Administrative & Technical Support

• Perform Microsoft administrative tasks including:
  • Entra ID (Azure AD) management
  • Group Policy and user provisioning
  • Microsoft 365 administration
• Assist with Windows Server administration tasks including:
  • Basic server maintenance
  • Monitoring and performance tuning
  • Patch management and updates

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft administration
• 5+ years of experience with Windows Server environments
• 10+ years of experience troubleshooting wired and wireless networks
• 5+ years of experience in customer service

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)

• Experience working with wiring closets
• Experience with Ruckus switches
• Experience using Deskpro Ticketing Systems
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy
