Top Requirements:
5+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience supporting complex, enterprise-scale environments.Strong UNIX background, with deep hands-on experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (physical and virtual).Proven experience supporting middleware platforms, with emphasis on resiliency and recovery.Hands-on experience architecting, installing, configuring, and optimizing Tomcat clusters.Advanced expertise in SSL/TLS, certificate authorities, and secure communications.Experience designing and supporting high availability and disaster recovery architectures.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across application, middleware, OS, and infrastructure layers.Plusses (Nice to Have):
Experience with infrastructure automation (Ansible, scripting).Exposure to containerization or Kubernetes (Tomcat on containers).Experience supporting Spring Boot or Java microservices platforms.Familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, or Prometheus.Experience operating within large, regulated enterprise environments.Job Summary:
The Middleware Support Engineer will support the adoption of an internally developed
application resiliency framework across applications. The primary objective of this role is to enable
standardized resiliency and recovery capabilities, with a strong focus on
recovery time objectives (RTO). This is a
support-focused, highly technical role aligned to middleware and platform services, requiring proactive thinking around application and infrastructure resiliency, strong analytics, and deep UNIX expertise.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Architect, install, configure, and optimize Tomcat clusters on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Support application deployment strategies, enforcing SDLC, change management, and release governance
- Design and manage SSL/TLS configurations, certificate lifecycle management, and secure communications
- Implement LDAP-based authentication, authorization, and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations
- Drive security hardening standards, vulnerability remediation, and compliance alignment
- Perform advanced root cause analysis for middleware, OS, and application issues
- Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting standards
- Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Control-M)
- Collaborate with application and platform teams to enable resiliency framework adoption
- Provide operational insights to improve availability, resilience, and recovery performance
