About the Role

Seeking an experienced Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer to support the development of advanced interceptor and missile systems. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, and validating state estimation, tracking, navigation, guidance, and control algorithms used in highly dynamic aerospace applications.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in signal processing, Kalman filtering, electro-optical systems, probability theory, and algorithm development using C++, MATLAB, and Python.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, verify, and test advanced Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) algorithms.
  • Develop state estimation and target tracking algorithms for missile and interceptor applications.
  • Create and maintain modeling, simulation, and analysis tools using C++, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Develop navigation algorithms utilizing statistical processing and sensor measurement data.
  • Design and evaluate guidance laws used for target engagement and intercept performance.
  • Support control system analysis, requirements development, verification, and validation activities.
  • Analyze sensor performance and measurement uncertainties in dynamic operational environments.
  • Conduct simulation studies, performance assessments, and algorithm evaluations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams supporting software, systems, modeling, and integration efforts.
  • Develop technical presentations, reports, and recommendations based on analysis results.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline and relevant GNC experience.
Required Technical Skills
  • Experience with Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) concepts and algorithm development.
  • Strong proficiency with C++.
  • Strong proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience developing tools and algorithms using Python.
  • Experience with Extended Kalman Filters (EKF) and Kalman Filtering techniques.
  • Experience with sensor signal processing.
  • Experience working with electro-optical imaging systems.
  • Strong understanding of probability theory, statistics, and estimation techniques.
  • Experience supporting missile, interceptor, aerospace, defense, autonomous, or related systems.
  • Ability to analyze and validate algorithm performance through simulation and testing.
Additional Desired Technical Experience
  • System monitoring and performance analysis.
  • Computer networking fundamentals.
  • Access control and secure system concepts.
  • Software development and debugging in Linux environments.
  • Mathematical modeling and algorithm optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Sensor Fusion architectures and multi-sensor tracking systems.
  • Experience evaluating large Monte Carlo simulation datasets.
  • Experience designing simulation experiments and statistical performance assessments.
  • Knowledge of advanced target tracking and state estimation techniques.
  • Experience supporting missile defense, interceptor, or aerospace development programs.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools such as Jira.
  • Experience with Ansible-based automation environments.
