Engineer-Level 1 - Associate (0 - 5 Years)

Location: Juno Beach, Florida

Role Overview

This position supports engineering activities for renewable and transmission projects. The Entry-Level Power System Planning Engineer assists with collecting engineering inputs, maintaining documentation, and tracking study progress. This role involves assisting with modeling, technical studies, and compliance activities using industry-standard tools to contribute to solar, wind, battery, and transmission projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect engineering drawings and technical datasheets from internal and external sources as inputs for modeling and studies.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, specifications, and equipment data to support project documentation.
  • Track the status of ongoing studies performed internally and by external consultants, and help provide required information to ensure studies progress on schedule.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to technical discussions with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing basic power flow, voltage, and stability studies under supervision.
  • Learn and apply industry-standard software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and PSLF.
  • Support the creation and validation of models for solar, wind, and battery projects.
  • Assist in monitoring interconnection requirements and documenting impacts for internal use.
  • Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Prepare draft reports, presentations, and communications for review by senior staff.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.

Experience: 0 - 5 years of experience in engineering studies and analysis, applying engineering-related disciplines.

Technical Skills: Willingness to learn power system analysis tools and modeling techniques.

Other Skills: Possesses strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Driving Requirement

Driving will be required as part of the position duties. A validation of a non-restricted current driver's license is necessary. The driving record must show no alcohol/drug-related driving offenses within the previous five years, and the license must not be currently suspended or restricted.
