We are seeking a Quality Assurance Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software throughout the agile product lifecycle. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive test plans, automating test cases for UI and databases, and collaborating with development teams to identify and resolve defects. The position requires a technical individual with experience in software testing, database technologies, and automation tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on functional requirements.
- Contribute to test planning and build test cases for stories in each sprint.
- Automate test cases for User-Interface (UI) and databases using tools like Selenium or Tosca.
- Build and manage test data required for the execution of test cases.
- Execute manual and automated tests, record results, and report errors and failures.
- Collaborate with the development team for defect triaging and provide timely solutions.
- Execute all levels of testing, including Functional, Integration, and Regression.
- Take ownership of end-to-end testing processes.
- Apply quality principles and ensure all standards are implemented within projects.
Required Qualifications
Education: Technical BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of professional experience, including 5 years in Software Testing. Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester using SQL, Database, and ETL technologies. Hands-on agile experience is necessary.
Technical Skills:- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium or TOSCA for UI and database.
- Expertise in testing User-Interface (UI) and Database changes.
- Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries using Joins.
- Proficiency with Unix, including the ability to write and execute commands.
- Working knowledge of test management software (e.g., qTest, Octane).
- Familiarity with Autosys for job scheduling.
- Knowledge of Oracle and Teradata.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Banking domain.
- Prior experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Excellent problem identification and solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
