Job SummaryTEK is seeking experienced
Level 2 Datacenter Technicians who are open to extensive travel to support a large-scale cabling initiative for a major datacenter client. This role is part of a specialized "Tiger Team" supporting Google's
Hi-Fiber Project, an initiative focused on upgrading legacy coax infrastructure to fiber across multiple datacenter locations nationwide.
Technicians selected for this role will be among the first on-site at new Google datacenter builds, helping establish processes, procedures, and execution standards during the initial
6-8 weeks of each project. Once a site is stabilized, the team will transition to the next location and repeat the process.
During downtime between projects, technicians will support operations at the Google datacenter in their
home market.
Key Responsibilities- Pull, route, and terminate fiber and coax cabling in a datacenter environment
- Support large-scale cable replacement and infrastructure upgrades
- Serve as an experienced on-site resource during the early phases of new Google datacenter projects
- Help establish and document best practices, workflows, and standards
- Work independently and step into projects fully productive from day one
- Collaborate closely with project leadership and fellow technicians
Required Skills & Experience- Proven experience as a Datacenter Technician
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Pulling and terminating cable
- Fiber and coax cabling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical datacenter environment
Nice-to-Have Skills- Cable replacement project experience
- Prior experience supporting large hyperscale datacenter environments
Travel Requirements- Up to 75% nationwide travel
- Travel assignments typically last up to two weeks at a time before returning home
- All travel arrangements are provided by the employer
- Eligible travel-related expenses are reimbursed
Work Environment- Enterprise-level datacenter facilities
- Physically active role involving standing, lifting, and cable installation
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Moncks Corner, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
