Business Analyst

Software Resources, Inc. has an immediate job opportunity available for a BUSINESS ANALYST in the Orlando, FL area. This is a hybrid work schedule (Monday through Thursday onsite, and Fridays remote). We are looking for candidates that are local to the Orlando area only.
Role Overview:
The Senior Business Analyst will support the organization by partnering with Product Owners, Engineering teams, and Enterprise Data Platform resources to define, prioritize, and deliver data-driven capabilities. This role will focus on translating business needs into clear data, reporting, and analytics requirements while enabling consistent KPI measurement across multiple Data Products. Serving as both a functional analyst and agile delivery facilitator, this role will help drive alignment between product teams and enterprise data initiatives, ensuring that reporting solutions, datasets, and analytical insights are delivered efficiently and with high business value.
Key Responsibilities: Product & Data Requirements Leadership

• Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business, operational, and reporting requirements across multiple product domains.
• Translate business objectives into detailed functional requirements, user stories, data definitions, and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate working sessions to clarify data needs, reporting logic, and analytical use cases.

Reporting & Analytics Enablement

• Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to define data sourcing, transformation, and dataset requirements for dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Support the development of semantic definitions, business rules, and data lineage documentation to ensure consistent reporting.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance self-service data and data accessibility.

Cross-Product Coordination & Data Platform Alignment

• Act as a liaison between product and enterprise data platform teams to ensure alignment on data priorities and delivery timelines.
• Support cross-product reporting initiatives that require integration of data from multiple systems or domains.
• Help drive adoption of standardized data definitions, governance practices, and reporting approaches across product areas.
• Monitor and track reporting and data-related dependencies across teams to minimize delivery risk.

Agile Delivery & Scrum Facilitation

• Facilitate agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Facilitate communication across technical and business stakeholders to remove blockers and maintain delivery momentum.

Data Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Help define validation approaches and testing criteria for data, reporting and analytical deliverables.
• Identify gaps or inconsistencies in data usage and recommend improvements to data structures, reporting processes, or documentation.
• Support change management efforts related to new reporting solutions or data product enhancements.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting data, reporting, analytics, or technology delivery initiatives.
• Strong experience gathering and documenting requirements for dashboards, datasets, and reporting solutions.
• Demonstrated understanding of data concepts including data modeling fundamentals, data integration, data quality, and data governance .
• Experience working with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of SQL or ability to interpret data structures and query outputs.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments with strong familiarity with Scrum practices and ceremonies.
• Prior experience serving in a Scrum Master, Agile facilitator, or delivery coordination role supporting cross-functional teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business language.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting enterprise data platform initiatives or data product operating models.
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, or semantic layer design concepts.
• Exposure to AI-enabled reporting, predictive analytics initiatives, or advanced analytics environments.
• Experience working with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or similar delivery management platforms.
• Scrum Master certification or formal Agile training is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
