Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Communications Technician is responsible for installing and terminating copper cabling, including CAT3 and CAT5 jacks, as well as mounting faceplates and surface-mount boxes according to company labeling standards. This role includes building and outfitting telecom closets by installing backboards, racks, patch panels, fiber hardware, and grounding systems.
The technician performs cable testing, such as continuity testing, tone-and-trace, and troubleshooting opens, shorts, crossed pairs, and other cabling issues. They must also identify active voice and data circuits as needed.
In addition to technical work, the technician coordinates small crews, provides on-the-job training, and ensures projects are completed on schedule and in compliance with safety and quality requirements. Accurate completion of all required paperwork, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, and change orders.
This role requires proficiency with standard installation tools such as punch-down tools (110/66), tone sets, crimpers, screwdrivers, snips, pliers, levels, and cable strippers, while adhering to all company, customer, and industry regulations.

- Crimpers (6/8-position)

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
