Agile Scrum Master

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 12 months

Role Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to fulfill Scrum Master and Project Manager responsibilities for one to two delivery teams. This position uses Agile practices to deliver quality software solutions, influencing teams and stakeholders in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets to optimize the flow of value.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum/Kanban level ceremonies and Program level events.
• Drive epic-level prioritization and sequencing decisions with key stakeholders.
• Assess the agility level of the Program and assist teams in continuous improvement.
• Provide support for Agile Delivery Teams to be self-organizing and self-managing.
• Escalate impediments, manage risks and dependencies, and help ensure value delivery.
• Support alignment between Business, IT, and Product Management on vision, roadmap, and priorities.
• Establish a cadence and support cross-Project planning centered around value streams.
• Assist in tracking the execution of features and provide input on resourcing.
• Support release management activities and provide delivery metrics to the leadership team.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MS, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in Project Management and as a Scrum Master for a software development team. Prior experience as a technical project manager leading a significant technical delivery is required. Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban, TDD) and toolsets (Atlassian suite, JIRA) is necessary.

Technical Skills: A good understanding of Big Data, Modelling, Web Services, Python, and ETL is required. The candidate must be able to understand architectural concepts and have expertise in project management tools, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP Certification.
• Banking domain experience.
• Proven track record of ownership and driving projects.
• Experience synthesizing complex data into actionable analysis for non-technical partners.
