Job#: 3034777 Job Description: Job Title: Senior Data Modeler Location: Charlotte, NC- Hybrid (3 days onsite)Contract Length: 6 Months (potential extension or conversion)Pay Rate: $96/hr - $102/hrNote: We are unable to consider C2C or third-party submissions.Role OverviewAn opportunity is available for a Senior Data Modeler to serve as the internal enterprise owner for a cross-asset Common Domain Model (CDM) supporting capital markets and investment banking. This role is responsible for defining and governing canonical business semantics for products, trades, lifecycle events, and related domains. The position involves consulting as an expert to influence initiatives for complex business and technical needs across engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the enterprise Common Domain Model (CDM) strategy and roadmap across capital markets domains.
- Design and maintain canonical data models for products, trades, lifecycle events, parties, agreements, and reference data.
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks for modeling standards, lineage, versioning, and auditability.
- Lead cross-functional working sessions to align business semantics across trading, risk, operations, finance, and regulatory teams.
- Manage schema versioning, release processes, and backward compatibility strategies.
- Define canonical-to-physical implementation patterns across APIs, event models, and data platforms.
- Develop onboarding frameworks, mapping templates, and transformation patterns for CDM adoption.
- Support regulatory, risk, and reporting initiatives through standardized data semantics.
- Enable AI/ML and LLM use cases by designing AI-ready datasets and semantic layers.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 7+ years of Engineering or Data Modeling experience within Capital Markets or Investment Banking. Demonstrated experience designing, governing, or materially contributing to a canonical enterprise Common Domain Model (CDM) in a capital markets environment. Strong expertise in cross-asset data modeling, including trades, lifecycle events, parties, agreements, and reference data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISDA CDM and the FINOS ecosystem.
- Background in regulatory reporting, risk, and finance data domains.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, APIs, and data platforms such as lakehouse or streaming.
- Exposure to AI/LLM data modeling patterns including RAG, semantic layers, and metadata enrichment.
- Knowledge of governance, versioning, and data lineage.
Compensation
Pay Rate: $96.10/hr - $102.50/hr
