Role Overview
This role is responsible for the development of complex requirements and the enhancement or maintenance of applications within Financial Crimes technology. The position involves designing, coding, testing, and documenting programs while supporting application maintenance activities. The Senior Data Engineer will work with business partners to define system application requirements and provide data-centric insights to support the full development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain applications to meet business goals in the Financial Crimes technology domain.
- Design, code, test, debug, and document programs and support application maintenance.
- Collaborate with business partners to define requirements for system applications.
- Provide data perspective insight, assess impacts on technology systems, and participate in the full development lifecycle.
- Contribute to story refinement, define requirements, and estimate work for delivery.
- Automate and manage the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
- Handle technical aspects of the application, including change management, maintenance, and platform upgrades.
- Analyze present-state conditions, develop future-state approaches, and facilitate implementation.
Required Qualifications
Education: A BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline is required.
Experience: A minimum of ten years of applicable experience is required. This includes experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and change management.
Technical Skills:- Experience with Teradata 16.x, SQL/BTEQ scripting, and TPT.
- Proficiency in Informatica 10.x.
- Knowledge of UNIX Shell scripting and Autosys.
- Experience with Cloudera CDP and Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Impala, PySpark, Scala).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
- Skills in data sourcing, data modeling, and data provisioning for large-scale data assets.
- Experience with database-intensive development, data migrations, and SQL performance tuning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Business knowledge in financial domains related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crimes.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with business stakeholders for requirement discovery.
