Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer for a hands-on role focused on the design and development of ETL solutions within a data warehouse environment. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects, take ownership of their work, and partner with various teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions. This position requires a proactive individual who can work with business analysts to translate requirements into detailed designs and identify opportunities for application improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on design and ETL development in a Data Warehouse environment.
- Work on multiple projects concurrently, attending meetings, understanding requirements, designing solutions, and developing code.
- Partner with near-shore and offshore teammates in a matrix environment.
- Coordinate with support teams, development, testing, and other partners.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand requirements and design solutions for production issues.
- Propose technical solutions to business problems in collaboration with the Information Architecture team.
- Take accountability for technical deliveries from offshore teams.
- Work with development and QA teams during the post-code development phase.
- Ensure adherence to defined processes, quality standards, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:- Expert knowledge in Oracle/Exadata and Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
- Proficiency with ETL processing concepts, including experience handling large data volumes and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing and Dimensional Data Modeling concepts.
- Primary Skill: Hadoop.
- Secondary Skill: Informatica.
- Tertiary Skill: Teradata.
Professional Skills:- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to design systems with limited direction.
- Excellent analytical and logical skills.
- A self-starter with thought leadership capabilities.
- Ability to partner effectively with both technology and business associates.
- Strong knowledge of the project life cycle.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a large financial organization.
Work Schedule
This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days per week on-site.
Compensation
The pay rate for this position is between $60.00 and $65.06 per hour.
