Cards Mainframe Developer

• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Optimize COBOL programs, JCL jobs, and DB2 queries for improved performance.
• Support daily batch processing, monitor job execution, and resolve job failures.
• Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation and system integration.
• Ensure seamless integration between Unix-based automation and mainframe backend systems.
• Enhance and troubleshoot existing scripts to improve stability and execution efficiency.
• Develop and maintain database objects such as procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Perform SQL tuning and optimize database performance.
• Monitor production systems, resolve incidents, and ensure batch stability.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain technical documentation.

Requirement/Must Have:

• Strong experience with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
• Expertise in Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL development skills.
• Experience with batch processing and automation workflows.

Experience:

• Experience in mainframe development and production support.
• Experience integrating shell scripts with relational databases.
• Experience in debugging and performance optimization.

Qualification And Education:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.
