Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Data Storage & Data Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) / Data Structure Designer to support the development and optimization of secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud-based data platforms within a Cyber Threat Operations Center (CTOC).

This role combines hands-on data engineering expertise with specialized knowledge in cloud data storage, data modeling, and data architecture. You will help design and implement modern data solutions that enable advanced cybersecurity analytics, threat detection, operational reporting, and strategic decision-making.

Although classified as a junior-level position, this opportunity requires strong technical depth in cloud data platforms and the ability to contribute to architectural discussions while collaborating closely with senior engineers, architects, and cybersecurity teams.
What You'll Do
  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud-native data storage solutions across multi-cloud environments.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouse architectures.
  • Develop and manage logical and physical data models to support cybersecurity operations and analytics.
  • Design efficient data structures and schemas that improve reporting performance and analytical capabilities.
  • Ensure data platforms meet security, compliance, governance, and performance requirements.
  • Support cloud migration initiatives and hybrid data architectures.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts, engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Contribute to data governance, metadata management, data quality, and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Assist in defining best practices for cloud data engineering and storage optimization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in Cloud Data Storage and Data Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience working across at least one or more cloud platforms:
    • Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience designing and supporting secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data Lakes
    • Data Warehouses
    • Data Modeling
    • Data Architecture
    • Schema Design
    • Data Governance
  • Experience developing data structures optimized for analytics, reporting, and operational performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) data services and architectures.
  • SQL Server administration, development, or optimization experience.
  • Experience with application management and production support environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint for technical presentations and stakeholder communication.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, threat intelligence, or security operations environments.
  • Experience working in hybrid and multi-cloud ecosystems.

The ideal candidate is a cloud-focused data engineering professional with expertise in designing secure, scalable, and resilient data platforms. You are comfortable working across Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and AWS environments and possess a strong understanding of data storage, governance, modeling, and architecture principles. You thrive in collaborative environments and can translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions that support cybersecurity operations and business objectives.
