Network Administrator - Palo Alto

Description

We are looking for a hands-on Network Administrator to support and maintain critical network infrastructure in Brookhaven, New York. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving connectivity issues, restoring service quickly, and keeping network environments stable across multiple facilities. The role requires an on-site presence five days a week and offers the opportunity to work with firewalls, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN technologies in a fast-paced operational setting.

Responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve day-to-day network issues involving firewalls, switches, wireless systems, and local area connectivity.
Administer and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewall environments, including policy updates, configuration changes, and issue resolution.
Configure, maintain, and upgrade Cisco switching infrastructure, including VLANs, trunk links, and related network settings.
Support SD-WAN environments using Cisco or Meraki platforms by identifying faults and restoring reliable site connectivity.
Manage and troubleshoot Aruba wireless networks to ensure consistent coverage and dependable user access.
Provide network support for nearby facilities in the Brookhaven, New York area, with occasional local travel as needed.
Assist with infrastructure rollouts, equipment installations, and deployment activities, including work that may occur during evenings or weekends.
Handle physical network hardware as required, including moving or installing equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Proven experience supporting enterprise network environments in an on-site role.
Strong hands-on knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, including troubleshooting and configuration of PAN-OS environments.
Solid experience with Cisco networking, including switch configuration, VLANs, trunking, and firmware or software upgrades.
Working understanding of SD-WAN concepts and the ability to troubleshoot Cisco SD-WAN or Meraki-based solutions.
Experience configuring and supporting Aruba wireless infrastructure.
Ability to travel occasionally to nearby sites and respond to after-hours deployment needs when required.
Familiarity with firewall technologies, Cisco routers, LAN environments, and core network administration practices.
Exposure to tools and platforms such as Panorama, Active Directory, Azure, or manufacturing-related network systems is a plus.
