Role: Network Administrator

Our client is seeking a Contract Network Administrator for a 6-8 week onsite engagement in Vancouver, WA. This role will provide hands-on support for the organization's network infrastructure, server environment, security systems, and end-user connectivity. The ideal candidate is an experienced IT professional who can quickly assess, troubleshoot, and maintain critical technology systems in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support enterprise firewall and network security platforms, including policy management, VPN connectivity, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, wireless networks, and remote access technologies.
- Manage directory services, user accounts, security groups, and access policies.
- Administer Windows-based server environments, including core infrastructure services.
- Monitor network performance and proactively resolve connectivity, performance, and infrastructure issues.
- Support secure remote access solutions for employees, contractors, and business partners.
- Assist with endpoint security administration and cybersecurity best practices.
- Execute backup and disaster recovery procedures and validate recovery readiness.
- Perform patch management and routine system maintenance activities.
- Respond to and resolve technical issues through the organization's service desk platform.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Utilize scripting and automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Support technology systems in a manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Network Administration, Systems Administration, or a related infrastructure support role.
- Experience administering enterprise firewall and security solutions.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, switching, VLANs, wireless networking, TCP/IP, and VPN technologies.
- Experience managing directory services, user accounts, security groups, and access controls.
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments and core infrastructure services.
- Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
- Experience with patch management and routine systems maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills related to network performance, infrastructure, and end-user connectivity.
- Experience utilizing ticketing, IT service management, or help desk systems.
- Working knowledge of scripting or automation tools.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Vancouver, WA for the duration of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with endpoint protection, endpoint detection and response (EDR), or cybersecurity platforms.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or production environments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity awareness and user training programs.
- Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, security, networking, or firewall administration certifications.
