Job SummaryThe Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for executing end-to-end Salesforce data migrations. This includes moving data from Snowflake to on-premises systems, through DataStage, and ultimately into Salesforce. The role focuses on source-to-target mapping, IBM DataStage ETL development, data cleansing and validation, mock migration cycles, cutover execution, and post-load reconciliation. The position requires close collaboration with Salesforce administrators, solution architects, product owners, and subject-matter experts to deliver repeatable, auditable, and automation-ready migration processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop source-to-target mapping specifications, including field-level transformations, deduplication logic, and validation rules.
- Build and configure ETL workflows using IBM DataStage, SQL, and Python to automate extraction, transformation, and loading into Salesforce.
- Profile source data, identify data quality issues, and implement cleansing and standardization routines.
- Execute mock migration runs, analyze error logs, perform root-cause analysis, and implement remediation steps.
- Conduct final production data loads and coordinate verification with business stakeholders.
- Produce reconciliation reports to validate accuracy, completeness, and referential integrity after migration.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive migration runbook covering workflows, schedules, controls, rollback procedures, and support processes.
- Implement quality checks, lineage documentation, and audit artifacts aligned with governance and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with Salesforce teams to ensure proper handling of object relationships, load sequencing, and platform constraints.
- Support continuous improvement by optimizing ETL performance and automating recurring validation tasks.

- Validated data extraction files from source Salesforce or legacy systems.
- Documented data cleansing and validation rules.
- Test migration runs with error logs and remediation documentation.
- Three mock data loads into the target Salesforce environment with verification.
- Final production data load with verification.
- Post-migration data quality and reconciliation report.
- Comprehensive migration runbook and supporting documentation.
Required Skills- Hands-on experience with IBM DataStage for ETL/ELT development.
- Strong SQL skills, including performance tuning for large datasets.
- Demonstrated experience in data mapping, cleansing, deduplication, and validation.
- Working knowledge of data governance, quality controls, lineage, and compliance requirements.
- Experience optimizing ETL jobs and troubleshooting data load issues.
Nice to Have- Knowledge of the Salesforce data model, including objects, relationships, metadata, and constraints.
- Experience with Salesforce Data Loader or similar migration tools.
- Familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse platforms used for staging or landing zones.
- Exposure to CI/CD practices for scheduling and deploying DataStage jobs and Python scripts.
- Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of data engineering experience, including at least 3 years building production ETL pipelines.
- Prior experience delivering at least one enterprise CRM or Salesforce migration is strongly preferred.
