What Experience You'll Need
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field involving coding.
- Professional Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in platform engineering, systems administration, or a related technical role.
- Cloud Proficiency: Proven experience working in cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS). You should be comfortable managing cloud-native infrastructure and services.
- Platform & Environment Management: Experience defining technical direction for specific platforms, including creating new environments, managing software upgrades, and executing performance tuning.
- Automation & Deployment: Strong proficiency in creating, modifying, and documenting automation scripts. Experience providing deployment services for both QA and production environments.
- Systems Administration: A wide understanding of platforms with the ability to perform advanced features and manage configuration across the enterprise.
- Reliability & Monitoring: Hands-on experience with application performance monitoring tools and a track record of protecting application uptime through active operational support.
- Independent Operation: Ability to operate independently with limited guidance and oversight, developing work plans for assignments of moderate complexity.
What Could Set You Apart
- Cloud Certification Strongly Preferred: Particularly Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) or AWS (e.g., Solutions Architect).
- Technical Mentorship: Proven ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, helping to increase the team's overall technical proficiency.
- Security Mindset: Experience engaging with auditors on technical gaps and a strong understanding of Information System Security guidelines.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to apply a new perspective to existing solutions to solve complex problems and resolve advanced diagnostics for global incidents.
- Strategic Advising: Ability to act as a technical consultant, making informed decisions for other contributors and providing support when needed.
- Self-Starter Mentality: You can identify and respond to priority shifts with minimal supervision, ensuring continuous alignment with leadership expectations.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate technical direction clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
