Role Overview
We are hiring a hands-on Platform Engineer to support a modern Google Cloud Platform data platform focused on self-service analytics, automated ingestion, and AI-driven governance. This role involves maintaining a secure, scalable infrastructure with a focus on automation and rapid enablement for data and analytics teams. The position is matrixed to a Data Platform Squad and operates under the hiring manager's technical direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision and support Google Cloud Platform data services including BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage, and Analytics Hub.
- Build and manage Google Cloud Platform infrastructure using Terraform.
- Configure projects, datasets, services, and IAM with security and compliance guardrails.
- Enable self-service data ingestion with a target turnaround of approximately one hour.
- Support automated, production data pipelines.
- Build and operate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps; exposure to Jenkins or Harness is a plus.
- Partner with teams implementing AI agents and automation for provisioning and governance.
- Support AI- and data-adjacent capabilities including semantic layers or ontologies and Gemini Enterprise.
- Troubleshoot access, provisioning, deployment, and platform issues.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and reliability practices.
- Collaborate with platform, data, analytics, and engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years in Google Cloud Platform platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps.
Technical Skills: Strong hands-on expertise with Terraform and Google Cloud Platform, including IAM and data services. CI/CD expertise with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps is required. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell is necessary. Candidates must have experience with monitoring, logging, and cloud security.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $80.00/hr to $95.00/hr. Please note that the final pay rate will be determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience and qualifications.
