Cloud Engineer

Description
We're looking for a highly capable Cloud / DevOps Engineer to design, build, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure using AWS and modern automation tooling. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in scalable environments, enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, and is passionate about automation, reliability, and cloud architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure
Design, deploy, and manage scalable AWS environments leveraging services such as:
EC2 for compute provisioning
EKS for Kubernetes orchestration
Implement autoscaling strategies to ensure performance, resilience, and cost efficiency.
Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform following IaC best practices.
Monitoring, Reliability & Operations
Configure and optimize CloudWatch dashboards, alerts, and logs to ensure system health and observability.
Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and drive root-cause analysis for incidents.
CI/CD & Automation
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to support automated builds, testing, and deployments.
Integrate Git-based workflows to support version control, branching strategies, and release management.
Containerization & Virtualization
Build, manage, and deploy containerized applications using Docker.
Support and maintain VMware environments as part of hybrid or legacy infrastructure.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Partner with development, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.
Advocate for automation, cloud best practices, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.
Qualifications
Required
Hands-on experience with AWS services, especially EC2 and EKS.
Strong proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
Experience with Docker, Git, and Jenkins.
Familiarity with autoscaling concepts and CloudWatch monitoring.
Working knowledge of VMware environments.
Preferred
Experience with Kubernetes beyond EKS (e.g., Helm, service mesh, cluster networking).
Background in SRE, DevOps, or cloud engineering roles.

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
