Lead Business Analyst: Natural Gas Midstream & Accounting Systems

Join a key player in the energy sector as a Business Analyst dedicated to enhancing gas accounting systems. You will work closely with various internal stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions. This role involves conducting gap analyses and managing project documentation, ensuring that integration of newly acquired assets meets established standards. You will operate in a fast-paced environment in downtown Houston, making a significant impact on the company’s operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead sessions with key stakeholders to gather detailed requirements that enhance gas accounting systems, impacting M&A integration efforts.

• Conduct thorough gap analysis between existing legacy systems and newly acquired assets to ensure smooth transitions and operational effectiveness.

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation that serves as a guide for engineers and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

• Utilize Jira for testing and tracking project tasks, ensuring that enhancements are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

Requirements:

• Proven ability to translate complex gas business rules into actionable IT requirements, with experience in the energy sector for at least 5 years.

• Demonstrated skill in conducting M&A gap analysis, identifying functional gaps and proposing effective solutions in a business analyst capacity.

• Deep understanding of the end-to-end gas lifecycle, including onboarding and billing processes, developed through hands-on experience in the industry.

• Experience in authoring detailed business requirement documents (BRDs) and functional specifications that are well-received by engineering teams.
