Java Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a remote Java Developer to join their team. We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing team focused on modernizing critical transaction and processing platforms. This role will primarily support a large-scale platform responsible for managing and storing varying things across operations. The team is currently transforming legacy systems and migrating services to a modern cloud-based architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java 21+ and Spring Boot
* Support modernization efforts by migrating legacy applications and payment systems to a centralized pricing and transaction platform
* Build and enhance services that process high-volume retail transaction and order data
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems supporting order management, point-of-sale (POS), pricing, and booking functions
* Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability using modern cloud-native technologies
* Leverage data-driven and AI-enabled solutions to improve system capabilities and development processes
* Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions
* Evaluate, review, and improve AI-generated code to ensure quality, maintainability, and security

REQUIREMENTS:
* 4-7+ years of java experience (21+)
* Expertise in Spring Boot
* Strong in cloud (Google Cloud Platform preferred)
* Strong problem solver with a proactive approach
* Ability to communicate/collaborate with stakeholders in a fast-paced Agile environment
* Ability to communicate with stakeholders and has strong business acumen

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
