Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Software Developer - Mortgage Capital Markets (Java/Python) for a contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in Dallas, TX .

Responsibilities :
  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain large-scale enterprise applications and complex system integrations.
  • Develop and support backend systems using Java and/or Python, including Web Services, REST APIs, and data-processing components.
  • Build and maintain integrations between upstream and downstream Mortgage Capital Markets applications.
  • Contribute to front-end application development using Angular, React, and JavaScript.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot database integrations, SQL scripts, and large-scale data-processing workflows.
  • Work with messaging and data technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, and Elasticsearch.
  • Support application deployments, CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release activities.
  • Develop and support cloud-based applications using Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms and Kubernetes.
  • Support test automation, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), synthetic monitoring, and application reliability initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, or support reporting solutions using SSRS and Power BI.
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents, application performance issues, and integration failures.
  • Work with application monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, Agile development activities, and application modernization initiatives.
  • Independently manage development assignments while contributing effectively within the broader technology team.
Required Skills :
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9+ years of experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale enterprise applications with complex integrations.
  • Strong development experience with modern programming languages such as Java and/or Python, including developing and consuming Web Services and APIs.
  • 7+ years of experience with data technologies and databases, including PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Apache NiFi, Apache Kafka, or Elasticsearch.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing, reading, and executing SQL scripts and working with large datasets.
  • 2+ years of experience with front-end technologies, including Angular, React, and JavaScript.
  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD and build automation tools such as Maven, Gradle, and Jenkins.
  • 4+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), and Kubernetes.
  • 4+ years of experience with test automation, including SRE monitoring and synthetic monitoring.
  • 2+ years of experience with SSRS Reporting and Power BI.
  • Strong production support and application troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of technical deliverables, and contribute to a collaborative development team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills :
  • Previous experience supporting Mortgage Capital Markets applications.
  • Experience with job scheduling and orchestration tools such as Tidal or Airflow.
  • Experience using Dynatrace for application performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments with a solid understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
