Overview
Apex Systems is supporting a healthcare client seeking a Pharmacy Engineering Technician 3 to support equipment operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement within a pharmacy environment.
This role is responsible for overseeing mechanical and electromechanical equipment, supporting system performance, and ensuring operational efficiency. The technician will work independently while contributing to equipment reliability, reduced downtime, and improved throughput.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Support- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment
- Troubleshoot and maintain automated equipment and electro pneumatic control systems
- Monitor equipment performance and report status updates to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Installation and Operations- Install and support electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and computer based systems
- Ensure proper setup and operation of prescription drug distribution equipment
- Perform testing of equipment and related software to ensure proper functionality and defect free performance
Process Improvement and Efficiency- Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance
- Recommend and implement design or process improvements to increase throughput and reduce cost to fill
- Evaluate mechanical systems for cost effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and recommendations
Project and Operational Support- Support and lead testing initiatives for equipment and systems
- Assist with development of future state process and equipment models
- Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing work and resolving issues
- Work with limited supervision while managing multiple responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 5 years of electrical and mechanical experience
- Experience troubleshooting automated equipment and control systems
- Strong ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Proven track record of completing projects and assignments successfully
- Experience documenting maintenance and repair activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with POS programming
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs
