OverviewApex Systems is seeking an
Engineering Technician - Integration & Test (I&T) to support a major aerospace program. This role involves hands-on support in mechanical and electromechanical assembly, fabrication, testing, modification, and integration of spacecraft hardware and support equipment. This position is fully onsite in Gilbert, AZ.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssembly & Fabrication- Perform mechanical assembly, wire harnessing, and soldering.
- Apply epoxy bonding and polymeric materials for spaceflight hardware.
- Use precision torque tools for proper fastener installation.
Equipment & Process Management- Maintain work areas per ESD, FOD, and 5S standards.
- Conduct calibration and preventative maintenance of electronic equipment.
- Support discrepancy documentation and assist in resolutions.
- Use digital tools including Solumina MES, TipQA, Windchill, and CREO View.
Integration & Test Support- Lead setup of test configurations.
- Set up, troubleshoot, and repair Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), including test racks and desktop systems.
- Assist with cable design efforts and configuration development.
- Run and navigate test scripts using Maestro and AstroRT environments.
- Verify completion of testing events and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Support critical and hazardous operations as required.
Basic Qualifications- High School Diploma (or technical training equivalent) with 4-6 years of experience as a Mechanical or Manufacturing Technician (or equivalent experience).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Hands-on aerospace experience, including harness building and soldering.
- Knowledge of electrical measurements (AC/DC, resistance), voltage circuitry, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of cleanroom operations and spacecraft handling protocols.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks (e.g., sanding, scrubbing).
- Ability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to wear and work in an N95 or higher respirator.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with standard electronic test equipment (network analyzers, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, synthesizers, digitizers, signal analyzers).
- Familiarity with RF or electronic components (filters, couplers, splitters, amplifiers, etc.).
- Experience with cryogenic test systems such as:
- Dilution refrigeration
- 4K cryocoolers
- Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigeration (ADR)
- Liquid helium immersion systems
